Quite possibly one of the biggest non-conference games in Gonzaga history is coming to Spokane this season after the Zags and Kentucky agreed to a home-and-home, starting locally on Nov. 20.

After adding a decent mid major in Kent State to the schedule, this announcement completely obliterates that news. In addition to Kentucky, the Zags also have Texas, Baylor, Michigan State, Alabama, and whatever the PK85 throws on the docket in what is without a doubt one of the school’s toughest non-conference schedules in history.

Credit to both John Calipari and Mark Few for getting done what needs to happen for college basketball as the conferences cannibalize opportunities for monster matchups. A home and home between two of the biggest college basketball programs in the nation. The sport can only use more of these games.

Both Gonzaga and Kentucky are projected as top 5 teams to start the season. The season cannot begin soon enough.
