The Gonzaga Bulldogs will face the Kent State Golden Flashes for the first time in school history as part of the 2022-23 non-conference schedule.

The big names of the non-conference slate were filled in a while ago, with Gonzaga so far scheduled to play Michigan State, Baylor, Washington, Alabama, and partake in the PK85.

Where as last season many of those “buy-in” games at home featured some opponents to be desired, this season, the Zags are setting their sites a bit higher. Although they will open the season against an overmatched North Florida team, the Zags have also booked Montana at home.

Kent State will be an intriguing matchup. Sincere Carry was the MAC Player of the Year last season, making first-team and the all-defensive team in his first season for the Golden Flashes. Ultimately, Kent State finished the year ranked No. 151 in KenPom and were an Akron loss away in the MAC Tournament from their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2017.

All in all, not a bad opponent to bring to Spokane.
