The NBA Summer League continued, with the big story for Gonzaga fans being Corey Kispert making his NBA debut. The Washington Wizards’ first scheduled game for the Summer League was cancelled due to coronavirus protocols.
Corey Kispert - 26 minutes, 8 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 turnovers
Kispert’s first NBA game was a mixed bag affiar. He made a couple of three pointers and the Wizards were definitely running some plays that were designed for Kispert coming off of screens. However, his inside game ran a little flat. Kispert shot 2-of-5 from long range but just 1-of-4 from inside the three-point line. That said, he played a team-high 26 minutes, so it was good to see that level of action in his first game.

Johnathan Williams III - 4 minutes, 3 rebounds
You could argue that JW3 is making the most of his Summer League by getting whatever he can in the limited minutes available. Williams entered the game in the waning minutes, and it would appear that his Summer League isn’t going to offer much else or a potential spot on the Kings this season.
Zach Norvell - DNP
This is definitely a bummer for the former Gonzaga guard. Norvell also did not play on Monday. But considering the Spurs had the back-to-back in the schedule, the wide assumption is that he would see minutes last night. That assumption proved to be incorrect. Norvell has not seen time throughout the Summer League, and barring any severe change in circumstances in San Antonio, that will probably be the case for the rest of the week.
