Former Gonzaga Bulldogs big man was chosen in the NBA Draft today by the Philadelphia 76ers with the No. 50 pick.

Petrusev averaged 17.5 points and 7.9 rebounds in his breakout sophomore year for the Zags. Ultimately, instead of leaving early for the NBA Draft in 2020, Petrusev returned to his native Serbia to work on his game. It turned out to reap dividends for his draft stock.

Although an amazing big man at college, Petrusev’s game he demonstrated at Gonzaga didn’t exactly translate to a modern day NBA. Petrusev changed that with Mega Basketball last season, averaging 23 points and 7.6 rebounds while earning ABA MVP honors. He demonstrated a new found three-point range after only attempting a total of 41 in his two years at Gonzaga.

Petrusev should be a productive backup center in the NBA.
