Gonzaga Bulldogs assistant Arizona Wildcats head coach Tommy Lloyd is filling out his coaching staff with some familiar names to the Gonzaga Bulldogs.

Lloyd hired Rem Bakamus, TJ Benson, and Ken Nakagawa on Thursday.

Bakamus, the former walk-on guard and all-around slayer on Twitter, will be Arizona’s new director of player development. Since graduating from Gonzaga, he has spent three seasons at Baylor as a graduate assistant coach.

Nakagawa arrived at Gonzaga after a stint as student manager and graduate assistant at Long Beach State University under former Gonzaga head coach Dan Monson. He served two years as a graduate assistant and was the video coordinator for the past three seasons. He will now be Lloyd’s director of advanced scouting.

Benson arrived in Spokane just two seasons ago as the Zag’s coordinator of basketball administration. He got a big promotion, now serving as special assistant to the head coach/recruiting coordinator.

Hopefully, this is the last we hear of Gonzaga-related personnel departing for Arizona. All jest aside, congratulations to the three former Zags and good luck in their new endeavors.
