After easily dispatching the Saint Mary’s Gaels yesterday evening, the Gonzaga Bulldogs will face the BYU Cougars in the WCC Tournament.

Last night almost provided the upset a lot of these tournaments were designed for, with the Cougars needing overtime to push past the No. 3 seeded Pepperdine Waves. Less than 24 hours later, the Cougars gift for the win is facing the nation’s No. 1 team.

In terms of intrigue, what is there is only what we manufacture. On Gonzaga’s end, a win continues the unbeaten streak into the NCAA Tournament, an additional cherry on top of the goal of the NCAA Championship. The Cougars are also a NCAA Tournament team, so a win for them just means a higher seed. In short, there will be no surprise NCAA Tournaments for any WCC teams this season.

Gonzaga has won all five WCC Tournament games against BYU, including the championships in 2014, 2015, and 2018.
