Gonzaga Bulldogs senior Corey Kispert was named one of five finalists for the John R. Wooden Award, which is probably the most prestigious player of the year award alongside the Naismith Award. He is joined by Jared Butler (Baylor), Ayo Dosunmu (Illinois), Luke Garza (Iowa), and Cade Cunningham (Oklahoma State).
In addition, Kispert was joined by teammates Jalen Suggs and Drew Timme as members of the ten player All American Team. It is the first time in the award’s history that three players from the same school were named All Americans.
Here is the rest of the All American Team:
- Jared Butler (Baylor)
- Kofi Cockburn (Illinois)
- Cade Cunningham (Oklahoma State)
- Hunter Dickinson (Michigan)
- Ayo Dosunmu (Illinois)
- Luke Garza (Iowa)
- Evan Mobley (USC)
The winner of the John R. Wooden Award will be announced on SportsCenter on April 6.
