The Gonzaga Bulldogs are still the No. 1 team in the nation, although their vote total has been eaten up a bit by the newest No. 2 team in the nation, the Michigan Wolverines.
Michigan has been on an absolute tear as of late, knocking off Iowa and Ohio State in the past couple of weeks. With Baylor’s loss to Kansas, the stage was set for the Wolverines to rise up. But they were never going to make it to No. 1, much to the chagrin of their very vocal Twitter fanbase, considering the Zags held 60 of the 64 first-place votes last week.
The Wolverines basically took the four first-place votes Baylor held last week. Gonzaga’s first-place vote total dropped by one, with one voter apparently not getting that ballot in on time (or just not voting for a top team).
Elsewhere around the polls, the BYU Cougars just almost made the cut, falling five points short of No. 25.
