15-game winning streak rolls on

The Gonzaga women are on a 15-game winning streak. Prior to last Tuesday’s game, they had won nine straight by double digits. On Tuesday night, they defeated BYU at home in a battle for first place thanks to two late corner threes from Cierra Walker.

Last week they actually dropped a spot, despite having won 14 straight at the time. This week, after that 15th win, they rose two spots.

Lisa Fortier’s squad has two home games this week against San Francisco and Santa Clara, who they beat by a combined 43 points last month. Their road game at Provo comes next Thursday, and might be their only real chance at a loss for the NCAA Tournament.
