Talking with LMU’s Eli Scott

The star for the Lions will be trying to spoil Gonzaga’s undefeated season.

You may have known about Eli Scott before he came to Loyola Marymount as a freshman in 2016. He was apart of a special high school team in Chino Hills and played with some pretty decent ball players (Lonzo, LiAngelo, LaMelo Ball, Onyeka Okongwu). That team went on to win the California State Championship and complete their undefeated season.

Jump to 2021. Eli will now be trying to ruin Gonzaga’s undefeated season and the chance of perfection. Scott has had an excellent season with the Lions (17.5 PPG, 7.7 RPG, 3.7 APG) while leading his team to 5 wins out of their last 6 games, including road wins at San Francisco and Pepperdine. He is well on his way to being named to the All-WCC First Team.

I had the opportunity to speak with Eli right after he landed in Spokane yesterday and talked about the Gonzaga Bulldogs, his comparison to Draymond Green, and what it was like to be a member of arguably the greatest high school team ever assembled.

Make sure to tune in on ESPN at 7 PM PT to watch LMU at Gonzaga as the Bulldogs look to move to 24-0. The Lions are currently in 3rd place in the WCC standings and hope to lock down a top 4 seed for the upcoming WCC Tournament in Las Vegas. A lot is on the line for both teams.
