Weekly Zags in the Pros Update

Sabonis has career game, multiple players with season highs

Once again, a certain Pacers player put together the top performance of any former Zag this week, despite playing only one game. His career high headlines this week’s recap, but there were plenty of noteworthy performances, despite many European leagues taking their midseason breaks.

Domantas Sabonis: Sabonis set a career high with 36 points on 62% shooting in a win over Minnesota last Wednesday. He also recorded 17 rebounds and 10 assists in the game, giving him his 7th career triple-double and 3rd this season. Unfortunately, the Pacers’ next two games in Texas were postponed, so we’ll have to wait to see what Domas has for an encore.

Rui Hachimura: Rui helped the Wizards pull of an upset of the Lakers last night with 15 points and 6 rebounds while shooting 6-8 from the field. He is averaging 15.3 points and 5.7 rebounds per game over his last three games and has scored in double figures in eight straight contests.

Brandon Clarke: BC missed one game over the weekend after aggravating a calf injury, but played well in the Grizzlies’ three other games this week. That includes a 12 point, 6 rebound, 2 assist, 2 steal, and 2 block effort in a win over the Thunder. Clarke is also shooting 59% from the field in his last five games.

Kelly Olynyk: Olynyk had a season high 22 points in a win over Sacramento earlier this week. He shot 10-16 from the field and also grabbed 7 rebounds. It was Olynyk’s second 20 point game this season.

David Stockton: Stockton had back-to-back solid games for Memphis in the G-League this week. He scored 15 with 13 assists in a win over Greensboro and had a season high 19 points in the following game. Stockton is averaging 13.5 points and 5.3 assists through 8 games in the bubble.

Ryan Woolridge: Woolridge notched a rookie season high of 10 points, along with 4 assists, in a win over Stockton’s Memphis squad. He also had a season high 6 assists in a win over Rio Grande Valley, as his OKC Blue are currently undefeated in G-League play at 7-0.

Kevin Pangos: Pangos scored a season high 25 points in EuroLeague action for Zenit this week. He shot 5-6 from three in that game and also dished 7 assists. Pangos followed that up with 16 points and 10 assists in the next game, the second of back-to-back wins in EL play for Zenit.

J.P. Batista: Batista is currently averaging 14.3 points and 6.6 rebounds per game for Minas in the Brazilian league. He scored 12 on 4-5 shooting in the team’s last game on February 14. Minas is currently second in the Brazilian league at 18-2.

Johnathan Williams: Williams was released by Turkish squad Galatasaray last week, despite posting 10.3 points and 7.3 rebounds per game this season.
