Gonzaga Bulldogs’ freshman point guard Jalen Suggs has been named as one of the five Bob Cousy Award finalists. The Bob Cousy Award is given to the best point guard in college basketball.
Suggs joins Jared Butler (Baylor), Ayo Dosunmu (Illinois), Cade Cunningham (Oklahoma State), and Collin Gillespie (Villanova) for the honors.
Suggs arrived on campus as the highest-rated recruit in Gonzaga history, and in a short year has done more than his part in making his presence known. We should’ve guessed it would be like that after he scored his first points of his collegiate career.
Congratulations to Jalen Suggs on your first collegiate points and your first collegiate technical foul. pic.twitter.com/v0SRS17dIc

That play has evolved into 14.1 points, 5.4 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and two steals per game for the Gonzaga freshman. He is the floor general for one of the top offenses in the nation, the top team in the nation, and a national championship title favorite. He has been named the West Coast Conference Freshman of the Week nine times this season.
Everyone knew Jalen Suggs would be good coming to Gonzaga, but he has largely proved to be better than many of us expected.
