Weekly Zags in the Pros Update

Three players made their season debuts this week

It was a solid week for former Zags both at home and abroad. Domantas Sabonis continues to play like an All-Star, while Nigel Williams-Goss made an immediate impact in his debut in Russia. The G-League season also tipped off last week, with two Gonzaga alums seeing action in the bubble.

Domantas Sabonis: Sabonis recorded his Eastern Conference leading 22nd double-double of the season in the Pacers’ last game against the Bulls, going for 25 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 assists. Domas also had 26/8/8 in a win over Detroit this week. He is currently 7th among Eastern Conference frontcourt players in All-Star fan voting, which ends tonight.

Rui Hachimura: Rui has scored in double figures in five consecutive games, including 13 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals in a win over the Rockets. He is currently 4th on the Wizards in scoring and 3rd in rebounding.

Brandon Clarke: BC returned from a four game injury hiatus with 13 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists in a win over Sacramento. Clarke is currently the 4th leading scorer for the Grizzlies and is 3rd on the team in rebounds.

Kelly Olynyk: Olynyk had back-to-back double digit rebounding performances this week, with 13 against Houston and 10 against Utah. He is also second on the Heat with 57 made three pointers this season.

David Stockton: Stockton opened up his G-League campaign averaging 13.8 points and 3.8 assists over the first four games for the Memphis Hustle. He had 16 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists on opening night, and added 19 points in the team’s last game against Salt Lake City.

Ryan Woolridge: Woolridge has appeared in two games so far for the Oklahoma City Blue, averaging 5 points, 5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists. The better of those two games came in a win against Canton, where he had 8 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals in 18 minutes.

Nigel Williams-Goss: Williams-Goss made an immediate impact for his new team, hitting a go-ahead shot in the final seconds to lift Lokomotiv to a 92-90 victory in the VTB League. He finished with 11 points, 5 assists, and 3 rebounds in his first game since signing with Lokomotiv last month.

Kevin Pangos: Pangos suited up for the World Squad in this weekend’s VTB League All-Star Game in Russia. He had 6 points and 3 assists. Zenit also played one regular season game this week, with Pangos scoring 17 with 4 rebounds and 6 assists in a win.

Johnathan Williams: Williams had 14 points on 6-9 shooting from the field in one game for Galatasaray this week. He leads the team and is 10th in the Turkish league with 7.3 rebounds per game.

Silas Melson: Melson had 10 and 14 points, respectively, in two games this week in Belgium. He currently leads his Limburg squad with 13.4 points per game through their first seven contests.
