Churn in the AP Poll, But Gonzaga Still on Top

The top teams stayed the same. No one else did.

NCAA Basketball: Gonzaga at Pepperdine Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

The Gonzaga Bulldogs are (of course) still the top team in the nation, again securing 51 first-place votes for the No. 1 spot. The Baylor Bears have the three remaining first-place votes, and Villanova and Michigan round out the top four.

After that, it was an absolutely wild week in the AP Top 25. Every other team in the poll had movement, some rather drastically.

Oklahoma rose 15 (!!!) spots after defeating both Texas and Alabama on back-to-back contests. Ohio State rose six spots to crack the top 10 after wins over Penn State and Michigan State.

In a year in which we have seen the likes of Duke, Kentucky, North Carolina, and Michigan State all exit the top 25 poll, Kansas almost joined them. The Jayhawks are clinging for dear life at No. 23, dropping eight spots after losing by a large amount against the Tennessee Volunteers.

Through it all, the Zags stayed on top.

Here is the full AP Poll for the week.
