Gonzaga Picked to Win Conference as Expected

Zags have two players in the preseason team.

NCAA Basketball: Final Four-UCLA at Gonzaga IndyStar-USA TODAY Sports

In what should be viewed as absolutely no surprise, the Gonzaga Bulldogs were picked to win the WCC by the coaches in the preseason poll. They basically secured all first-place votes except for head coach Mark Few, who is not allowed to vote for his own team.

The BYU Cougars led by senior Alex Barcello, were picked to finish second, followed by Saint Mary’s at third.

A bit (but not really) surprisingly, the Zags have only two members on the Preseason All-WCC Team in Drew Timme and Andrew Nembhard. However, it is important to remember that the preseason picks do not include any new players to the school. We very well should expect to see Chet Holmgren, Rasir Bolton, or Nolan Hickman added to that list by the end of the season.
