The Gonzaga Bulldogs are still the No. 20 in the country according to the latest AP Poll.
The Zags rattled off two authoritative wins this week over Santa Clara and San Francisco, but it wasn’t enough to push Gonzaga up any higher in the polls.
Elsewhere in the AP Poll, there was a thunderous amount of movement. Stanford dropped from No. 1 to No. 5 after a stunning loss to the Colorado Buffalos over the weekend. Somehow, Stanford was still deserving of a first-place vote.
That meant it was time for everyone to move up. Louisville, North Carolina State, UConn, and South Carolina all correspondingly moved up one spot to create a new hierarchy in the top five. It is the first time in school history that the Louisville Cardinals have been ranked as the No. 1 team in the nation.
For the Zags this week, there is a limited ability to showcase their continued domination. The Zags will play BYU on Saturday, their only game of the week.
