It looks like the Gonzaga Bulldogs will have another potential top 25 matchup on next year’s schedule with the announcement of their inclusion in the Jimmy V Classic, at Madison Square Garden, in New York City.

Ignoring the fact that Jeff Goodman decided to put his own preseason rankings in there, the non-conference schedule for the Zags is fleshing out rather nicely. The Zags now have games against Texas Tech, Texas, Arizona, Washington, and the Orlando Invitational (featuring Auburn, Belmont, Boise State, Michigan State, Saint Louis, Siena, and Xavier) on the schedule.

This is the third time the Zags have partaken in the Jimmy V Classic, dating back to a 69-60 win over NC State back in 2002. More recently, Gonzaga played Villanova in 2017, losing 88-72.

Despite what Goodman thinks, the Zags could very well be the preseason No. 1 team, and Mark Few is scheduling hard to prepare his team for what will hopefully be the deepest March Madness run possible.
