The Gonzaga Bulldogs and the Texas Longhorns have announced a home and home series beginning in Austin, Texas next season.
Gonzaga scheduling news: Zags will play home and home against Texas, beginning in Austin this November— Jim Meehan (@SRJimm) March 28, 2020
Texas finished third in the Big 12 last season and ended with a 19-12 record overall. Shaka Smart’s squad has quite a bit of talent, and it is all about putting it together. Where as the Zags are consistently coming in as one of the top teams in the nation in most of the too-early top 25 polls, Texas is usually sitting at the very bottom or just outside of the top 25.
Either way, it’ll be Gonzaga’s second game against a Texas-based team as of now. The Zags recently announced a neutral site game against the Texas Tech Red Raiders. The Zags also have games against Washington and Arizona scheduled, as well as the Orlando Invitational (alongside the Auburn Tigers, Belmont Bruins, Boise State Broncos, Michigan State Spartans, Saint Louis Billikens, Siena Saints, and Xavier Musketeers).
