The Gonzaga Bulldogs women’s basketball team finished the season ranked No. 13 in the nation according to the latest AP Poll, the final bit of confirmation on their season this year.
For everyone involved, it is bitterly disappointing that the NCAA Tournament was cancelled due to COVID-19. For the Gonzaga women, it was an especially terrible taste because this is one of the, if not the, best women’s basketball squad in Gonzaga history, and one that looked most ready to break out of the “slump” and advance to the second round of the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2015.
The Zags did it this season despite losing senior guard Katie Campbell to injury midway through conference play. They finished the season with only three losses, one in overtime on the road to Stanford. They reached No. 11 in the AP Polls multiple times, the highest ranking in school history.
Here is the full final AP Poll for the 2019-20 women’s basketball season.
