The Gonzaga Bulldogs and the Saint Mary’s Gaels will face off for the third time this season in a rematch of last year’s WCC Tournament Championship game.

The Bulldogs narrowly escaped from a relentlessly competitive San Francisco Dons squad last night to make it to the championship game for the 9,000th time.

Jordan For (of course) buried the game winner with seconds on the clock as the Gaels “upset” the BYU Cougars for the championship game in an absolutely nail biting FIFTY TO FIFTY ONE FINAL SCORE UGH.

On the tops of everyone’s minds no doubt is how badly Saint Mary’s trounced Gonzaga in last year’s championship game. Last season, the Zags beat the Gaels handily in both games, only to lay an absolute egg in the tournament.

It is a different squad this season, and hopefully the win over the Dons last night placed a sense of urgency in the Gonzaga players. The Zags, most likely, will still end up with a No. 1 seed even with the loss, but no one wants to lose to the Gaels, ever.
