Although the Baylor Bears are nipping at the heels, it is hard to argue with that sentiment. As I pointed out yesterday on Twitter, in a wild year of college basketball, the undefeated Aztecs, a potential No. 1 seed, are one of the best examples of the insanity.
Looking at the KenPom top 10 on the first day of the season vs today is kind of crazy. Here is the top 10 as it stands right now.

This year’s success has gotten a key boost from a couple of transfers familiar to Gonzaga fans. Malalchi Flynn transferred to San Diego State after two seasons at Washington State and KJ Feagin is a graduate transfer from Santa Clara. That, on top of growth from junior forward Matt Mitchell and another graduate transfer in Yanni Wetzell, and the Aztecs went from maybe middle of the road team to one of the best in the country.
On the Gonzaga-specific end, confidence in the team is finally waning....a bit.

The dip aligns up with the narrow and tight game against San Francisco. This week, a mere 96 percent of voters are confident in the direction of the Gonzaga Bulldogs program. That is the lowest mark since Week 7, which was the beginning of WCC play and those Portland and Pepperdine games many of us chose to forget about, when the Zags registered just 95 percent.
