Gonzaga Rises Up One Spot to No. 11

Two wins and a loss up top.

The Gonzaga Bulldogs women’s basketball team rose up one spot in the latest AP Poll to No. 11, setting a new school record for highest ranking in history.

The Zags won both their games last week on the heels of strong defense, continuing the main trend of the season. DePaul, the former No. 11 team, lost, providing the Zags the opportunity to move up.

Now, the Zags stand on the outside of the top 10, which would be a huge feat for the program if they are able to join the club. At the rate the Zags are playing, it truly seems a matter of if, not when.

Around the rest of the top 25, the major teams up high didn’t move an inch. The Pac 12 claims four of the top 10 teams in the nation, so as long as the Zags keep winning, the opportunities will be there to overtake either No. 10 UCLA or No. 9 Oregon State.

See below for the full top 25.
