The Zags own the all-time record against Baylor at 5-1, with the teams’ last meeting during the NCAA Tournament in 2019. Gonzaga won that game handily, 83-71, led by Brandon Clarke’s 36 points.
Gonzaga is 2-0 against the Big 12 this season, continuing a solid streak against the conference. In their last 10 games against the Big 12, Gonzaga is 8-2.
Of course, Baylor is not going to be an easy out. Gonzaga opened the preseason ranked one point over Baylor in the AP Poll, and the roles were swapped in the preseason coaches poll, with the Bears taking the top spot. Where as Gonzaga owns an impressive win over Kansas, a blowout over Auburn, and a hard-fought win over West Virginia, Baylor has pretty easily toppled its first three opponents of the season: Louisiana, Washington, and Illinois.
This will be the second of two games Gonzaga plays in Indianapolis before heading home for four games in Spokane.
