Gonzaga Stays at No. 1 in Latest AP Poll

Who the heck else are you going to vote for?

The Gonzaga Bulldogs increased their lead atop the AP Poll, gathering 61 first-place votes.

The Zags are coming off a convincing win over the then No. 3 Iowa Hawkeyes, now No. 4. It was the third win over an AP top 15 team to start the season, becoming just the third team in history to accomplish that feat in the first four games of the season.

The Zags are narrowly missing out on the on the chance to make it four top 15 teams. Gonzaga will play the No. 16 ranked Virginia Cavaliers on Saturday.

Elsewhere around the poll, BYU is gathering votes after defeating San Diego State last week. Baylor still secured three-first place votes, something that might vanish this week if the Zags have another eventful win over Virginia. Baylor only plays Arkansas Pine-Bluff this week before taking time off for the holidays.

Here is the full AP Poll.
