Jill Townsend and Jenn Wirth Make All-WCC Preseason Team

And the Zags are picked to win the conference for the eighth-straight year.

The Gonzaga Bulldogs were picked to win the conference for the eighth-consecutive season, and seniors Jill Townsend and Jenn Wirth were named to the All-WCC Preseason Team.

The Zags did not get secure the “unanimous” vote like their male counterparts, with BYU receiving two first-place votes and Portland receiving one. Coaches are not allowed to vote for their own team. Here is are full preseason rankings:

The Zags will look to build off of one of their most successful seasons behind the leadership of Townsend and Wirth. Townsend is the reigning WCC Player of the Year, leading Gonzaga with 12.2 points per game last season. Wirth was the team’s top rebounder last season, averaging 6.9 per game.
