The location is a bit interesting, considering that both Gonzaga and Baylor will be in Orlando for the Jimmy V Classic. Who cares, however. A game between two of the top teams is a game between two of the top teams, and it is exactly the high-profile matchup the non-conference will need.
Gonzaga and Baylor routinely take two of the top sports in any respectable too-early top 25 by national outlets. The Final Four is scheduled for Indianapolis in 2021, and this game could very well be a preview of a FInal Four of National Championship matchup.
For now, Gonzaga’s non-conference schedule is solidified as the Orlando Invitational, Tennessee, and Baylor. Not too shabby. With WCC play not starting until Dec. 31, we should expect Gonzaga to figure out a way to play some more games.
