Although things were a bit tight throughout much of the contest against Portland, Gonzaga will hopefully have an easier time against a team they have absolutely dominated since the turn of the century. Gonzaga has won 37-straight games against Pepperdine, with the Waves last (and only) win since Y2K came on Feb. 12, 2000, in a 80-69 win over the Zags.
Since then, it has not been pretty. Pepperdine has engaged in a few closer games, but recently, it has been all Gonzaga. Since Pepperdine last kept it close in 2015, the Zags have won the last 10 games by an average of 23 points (including the largest margin of victory between the two teams—50 points in 2017).
