Bittle is the top-ranked player in Oregon and the No. 14 player overall as rated by 247 Sports. He is being heavily recruited by most teams on the west coast, including Oregon, UCLA, and Arizona. He has already taken official visits to UCLA and Arizona.
Bittle is a 6’11 center who has performed brightly in his junior year of basketball. He recently scored 41 points and grabbed 14 rebounds in the Les Schwab Invitational showdown, finishing 18-of-25 from the field and 4-of-10 from three point.
The Zags have already landed 2021 big man Kaden Perry as the only member of their class. Technically, as it stands now, Gonzaga only has one scholarship to give. However, most likely by that time, Jalen Suggs will have departed early for the NBA, and, one can presume, some combination of Joel Ayayi, Filip Petrusev, Anton Watson, or Drew Timme (at minimum) as well.
Bittle is another lean, sharpshooting center, in the vein of Chet Holmgrem. Holmgrem, also in the class of 2021, is Jalen Suggs current teammate, and is ranked No. 4 in the country.
