Chet Holmgren, one of the top recruits in the class of 2021, will take an official visit to Spokane on Oct. 5.
Gonzaga will host five-star junior Chet Holmgren for an official visit on October 5th, a source told @Stockrisers; Will visit Ohio State this weekend, who met with him this live period.— Jake (@jakeweingarten) September 20, 2019
Holmgren is a five-star unicorn, a seven-footer who can easily rain hellfire from long range—think Oregon’s Bol Bol, and you have a similar player. He is ranked as the No. 4 player by 247 Sports.
Holmgren’s visit coincides with fellow top 2021 recruit Walker Kessler. Both will be in town for Kraziness in the Kennel, the one time in the fall that is optimal for recruiting visits.
The Zags have been on Holmgren for quite some time, and have a slight leg-up because Holmgren’s 2020 teammate at Minnehaha Academy is Gonzaga’s priority recruit Jalen Suggs (who although he has not committed yet is widely expected to in the coming months) will also be in Spokane on Oct. 5.
Although it is impossible at the moment to successfully formulate what the 2021 roster will look like, the minutes will be there for Holmgren, who very easily could be a one-and-done depending on how his college year goes (and how much weight he is able to put on).
