The Mavericks finished last year ranked No. 150 by Ken Pomeroy and No. 160 in the NCAA’s NET rankings.
The Mavs return leading scorer and senior point guard Brian Warren to the fold to a team that finished second in the Sun Belt Conference last season. The scoring punch from last season took a hit, however, after second-leading scorer Edric Dennis graduated and transferred to TCU to finish out his collegiate career.
The non-conference schedule for the Zags already features quite a few premier games, highlighted by Washington (on the road), Arizona (on the road), North Carolina (at home), Texas A&M (on the road), and the Battle 4 Atlantis Tournament.
The Zags recently announced a Dec. 4 game against Texas Southern, and are facing Eastern Washington for the first time since 2011.
