Brandon Clarke posted a double-double in a 94-88 win over the Boston Celtics, keeping the Memphis Grizzlies playing in the NBA Summer League for at least one more game.
Clarke finished with 18 points, 12 rebounds, and three blocks in the win, continuing his impressive Summer League play.
Josh Perkins helped lead the Charlotte Hornets to a win over the Utah Jazz, playing 22 minutes, finishing with four points, five assists, but unfortunately three turnovers. Perkins Summer League output has been a bit uneven. He looked like he fit in the fold in the first game, and although he hasn’t had a bad Summer League, its not clear whether he has done enough to secure himself any sort of future with the Hornets.
Clarke, obviously has a future with the Griz, but the Summer League has been a quality demonstration that he can hold his own with the worst of the NBA has to offer. It will be interesting to see how Clarke’s game works during a NBA game with real NBA stars.
The Grizzlies Summer League season continues against the New Orleans Pelicans tonight, at 6:00 pm, on ESPN2.
