For the second year in a row, Anton Watson has narrowly missed out on the USA FIBA World Cup team.

The Gonzaga Prep product and 2019 Gonzaga Bulldogs commit made the initial roster cuts, but ultimately did not make the final U19 team. It is the second year in a row that Watson was cut before the final roster was set.
For Gonzaga fans, the FIBA World Cup is still worth tuning into, however. Sophomore guard Joel Ayayi will be participating in the U19 tournament with France, Filip Petrusev will play for Serbia, Pavel Zakharov will be on Russia, Martynas Arlauskas will be on Lithuania, Oumar Ballo will be on Mali, and 2020 commit Julian Strawther will be playing for Puerto Rico.
For Team USA, it is worth watching to see priority 2020 target Jalen Suggs participate. The Zags have heavily pursued the two-sport guard, and many pundits consider the Zags the heavy favorite (if Suggs decides to play basketball).
