As we keep saying, the future looks bright.

Incoming 2019 recruits Anton Watson and Brock Ravet both won the state of Washington’s AP Player of the Year award, Watson at the 4A level and Ravet at the 2B level.

Watson scored 33 points, grabbed eight rebounds, and dished out four assists in helping leading Gonzaga Prep to its second consecutive state title this season. Ravet led Kittitas High School to three straight championships, and that was just the beginning of his accolades. He also finished his high school career as the Washington State all-time scoring leader with 3,100 points.

The two Washington-bred players are a bit reason the Zags recruiting class is ranked No. 5 in the nation, according to 247 Sports.

Watson and Ravet join Drew Timme, the No. 40 player in the nation, Martynas Arlauskas, Pavel Zakharov, and Oumar Ballo as the newest members of the Gonzaga Bulldogs squad in 2019. Although the Zags will lose Josh Perkins, Jeremy Jones, and Geno Crandall (for sure) and Rui Hachimura, Brandon Clarke, and Killian Tillie (possibly), the 2019 class is another example of the Zags simply reloading.
