There was plenty of movement in the latest AP poll but the team that matters most didn’t move one inch. The Gonzaga Bulldogs are still the No. 1 team in the nation.

The Zags received a lion’s share of the first-place votes, although one intrepid voter does not agree and still awarded the Duke Blue Devils a first-place vote, despite Duke’s second loss in four games. As a quick reminder, the Gonzaga Bulldogs beat the Duke Blue Devils earlier in the year.
All jokes aside, Gonzaga should hold strong as the No. 1 team in the nation for another week, especially considering Gonzaga will not play basketball until next Monday. Presuming the Zags take home the WCC Tournament crown, Gonzaga should enter March Madness as the AP’s No. 1 team in the nation for the first time since 2013.
This also marks the fourth week the Zags have been ranked No. 1, tying the mark for the most in school history, set in 2017.
