The second round of the NCAA Tournament concludes today, and hopefully, there is plenty of madness to go around.
Technically, we saw one upset on Saturday, with No. 5 Auburn handily defeating No. 4 Kansas, 89-75. Otherwise, excluding the LSU/Maryland game, it was a remarkably non-mad day of basketball.
Sunday might have the recipe to change all of that. Right off the docket, there is the highlight of the No. 12 Oregon Ducks vs. the No. 13 UC Irvine Anteaters. No. 12 Liberty looks to continue their run against No. 4 Virginia Tech, and the No. 11 Ohio State Buckeyes are aiming for the upset over the No. 3 Houston Cougars.
All of that should provide a bit more entertainment than we saw on Saturday. If anything, we can see if Virginia’s new March-schtick of being a borderline heart-wrenching team continues into the second round, in which they will face an Oklahoma squad that looked absolutely fantastic in the first round.
