On Sunday, March 17, we will find out if the Gonzaga Bulldogs did enough in the eyes of the selection committee to earn a No. 1 seed during the Selection Sunday broadcast on CBS.
Gonzaga, an ex-No. 1 team in the AP at this point, was clobbered by Saint Mary’s in the WCC Championship, throwing a bit of a kink into the plans to secure the third No. 1 seed in school history.
If the Zags are knocked down a peg, it will be the third No. 2 seed in school history, the last one coming in 2015, in which the Zags lost to the eventual national champions DUKE in the Elite Eight.
This year, the fanbase is clamoring for the whole caboodle, and all of that will depend on matchups, matchups, and matchups.
