The Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame announced earlier today the top 10 point guards in the nation through the Bob Cousy Award. This award has been around for 16 years. Past winners include Jalen Brunson (2017-2018), Trey Burke (2012-2013), Kemba Walker (2010-2011), and more.
2018-2019 Top 10 Candidates:
Ky Bowman, Boston College
Josh Perkins, Gonzaga
Tremont Waters, LSU
Markus Howard, Marquette
Cassius Winston, Michigan State
Ja Morant, Murray State
Cody Martin, Nevada
Carsen Edwards, Purdue
Jordan Bone, Tennessee
Ty Jerome, Virginia
This list has a lot of talented players. If I had to choose my top 3 candidates to win this award at the end of the college basketball season, I would pick (in no particular order) Ja Morant (24.1 PPG, 10.3 APG, 5.6 RPG), Carsen Edwards (24.5 PPG, 3.5 APG, 3.3 RPG), and Markus Howard (25.0 PPG, 4.2 APG, 4.0 SPG). The final 5 finalists will be announced early March and the winner of the award will be announced early April.
