The Zags gained a bit of breathing room in their No. 4 ranking. Michigan’s loss to Iowa sent the Wolverines out of the top 5, with Kentucky moving up to take the spot. Elsewhere around the poll for fans of Gonzaga Bulldogs, the North Carolina Tar Heels continued their slow climb through the top 10, and the Washington Huskies remain on the very cusp of the top 25.
Gonzaga has perhaps its biggest week of conference play on the docket this week. The Zags host both San Francisco and Saint Mary’s in Spokane this week. Authoritative wins here probably aren’t enough to get the attention of any of the pollsters, but there is the chance, slightly, for some movement for next week’s poll.
