Gonzaga Women Ranked No. 17 in Latest AP Poll

Moving on up.

NCAA Basketball: NCAA Tournament-Second Round-Baylor vs Gonzaga Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The Gonzaga Bulldogs women’s basketball team moved up one spot in the latest AP Poll, coming in at No. 17.

The Zags had two solid road wins last week, defeating Montana State, 70-55, and Washington State, 76-53, to improve to 8-1 on the season.

There was a shakeup in the top five after Louisville lost to Ohio State, dropping them from No. 2 to No. 7. While Stanford remained at No. 1, Connecticut, Oregon, Oregon State, and South Carolina all slid up to fill out the top five.

Looking ahead on the schedule, future opponent Missouri State rose to No. 20, setting up what looks to be a rather fun match-up in Spokane on Dec. 20. The Bulldogs have three remaining non-conference games against Wyoming, Missouri State, and Texas Southern, before heading into conference play.

The Zags next opponent is Texas Southern on Saturday afternoon.
