The Gonzaga Bulldogs face off against the Detroit Mercy Titans in the final game of the non-conference slate and their final game of 2019. Most likely, the Zags will end it on the highest note possible—owning the No. 1 ranking in the nation at the moment.

This is the third time the Zags have faced off against the Titans , but the first time since 19978 Interestingly enough, the Zags have not beat Detroit Mercy in either two meetings—including losing to Detroit, 49-48, on Dec. 4, 1998. Gonzaga, of course, would go on to advance to the first Elite Eight in school history later that year, beginning the NCAA Tournament streak that continues today.

So that is a bit of fun trivia for a game that the Zags should handily win. After tonight’s game, we are onto the Thursday/Saturday schedule of the WCC.
