2019 Recruiting: Anton Watson now ranked No. 32 in class by 247 Sports

The Spokane product is going to be a big deal at GU.

Class of 2019 recruit Anton Watson is now ranked as the No. 32 player in the nation in 247 Sports recently updated rankings. Combo guard Brock Ravet also joins Watson in the rise, coming in at No. 91.

Although a lot of fans considered the 2018 cycle a bust of sorts, with Gonzaga missing out on a majority of the top-tier prospects they were chasing, the 2019 year is looking quite a bit different.

Watson is rated as the second-best player coming out of the state of Washington. He briefly flirted with an appearance on the the U-18 National Team. He should enter his freshman year at Gonzaga as one of the most hyped local products the school has seen.

Watson, combined with Ravet, are enough to give the Zags the No. 15 ranked recruiting class in the nation for the Class of 2019. Granted, that can easily fall as more recruits start to pick schools, but the Zags are still hot on the heels of some other top-100 recruits.

247 Sports rates Gonzaga as “warm” on No. 25 ranked combo guard Boogie Ellis, No. 44 ranked center Drew Timme, and No. 88 ranked center Isaac Johnson. Throw in Tommy Lloyd being hot on the heels of Lithuanian product Martynas Arlauskas, and the Zags class of 2019 could very easily end up being the best recruiting class in school history.

We are in the glory years of Gonzaga basketball at the moment. The team is one year removed from the first national championship appearance in school history, and, if the preseason hype is correct, very well could be looking at another appearance this season. Even if the Zags lose out on every single prospect they’ve offered in 2019, Watson and Ravet are looking more than ready to help carry the torch.
