When the BYU Cougars entered the WCC, we all knew there would be blood. Out of all the WCC squads in the league, perhaps even more so than Saint Mary’s, the Cougars have been a thorn in the Zags’ side from the beginning.
Consider this much: the Zags are 11-6 against the Cougars. The last five games in the series have been decided by a combined 26 points. The last three games in Spokane have been decided by a combined 12 points. Those last three meetings in Spokane by the way? Oh yeah, BYU has won all of them. Twice on senior night too. Ugh.
The Cougars just lost to a LMU team they had no business losing to, and that is what makes them dangerous. Cornered animals either run away or they go for the throat, so it will be up to the Zags to keep the pedal to the metal, because this BYU team has nothing to lose.
