It has been quite sometime since the Loyola Marymount Lions defeated Gonzaga. In fact, you have to look all the way back to Feb. 18, 2010. Since then, the Zags have won 17-straight against LMU.
Unfortunately, for LMU, the Zags are coming off of their strongest effort of the season, and there are some important building blocks to look for. The Zags are coming off a game where they only turned the ball over four times—the second lowest team total in school history. It was the lowest turnovers by the Zags since Mark Few became head coach.
LMU is also entering on a high note, and bring a different aspect to the game. The Lions lead the conference with 7.1 steals per game and force nearly 14 turnovers per game. For Gonzaga, the turnovers will be the key stat to watch, because LMU can definitely pressure the ball.
Enjoy this one folks. For once we don’t have BYU on senior night, so the Zags get two crummy WCC teams to close out the last home stand of the 2017-18 regular season.
