In case you missed it last night, the Gonzaga Bulldogs and the Illinois Fighting Illini went as tit for tat as humanely possible. In the end, the Zags, thanks to another strong game from Rui Hachimura and the heroics of Jeremy Jones, pulled off an 84-78 win.
Which means it is time for Gonzaga to play Arizona (yet again!). The Wildcats pulled off their own rally yesterday, taking down Iowa State in final five minutes of their opening round game.
This will also be an opportunity for Gonzaga to watch Brandon Williams and Chase Jeter, two Gonzaga targets that spurned the Zags for Arizona. It will also be a completely different game in terms of style. Arizona doesn’t force nearly as much pressure on the ball as Illinois does, so hopefully, the Gonzaga guards will have an easier time.
