The Gonzaga Bulldogs are going for their 34th-straight win over the Pepperdine Waves on Thursday evening in Malibu.
The Zags are coming off one of their strongest wins of the season over the Santa Clara Broncos on Saturday. The Waves are trying to halt a five-game streak, and that is a tall task considering the Zags have won 15-straight in Malibu.
Pepperdine has been hammered by injuries this season. Leading scorer Kameron Edwards has missed five games with a concussion, and it is unclear if he will play. So far, Pepperdine players have missed a total of 35 games this season, and the squad hasn’t been able to play a single game with its presumed starting five. Without Edwards, the Waves are going from a rather understaffed team to a truly understaffed team.
Last Saturday’s effort for Gonzaga was the fifth time the Zags have hit 100 points in a season, marking the most times in school history. A new record has been created, and it is time for the Zags to continue to build on it.
