The beauty of conference play is that you rarely have time to dwell too much on a loss. After dropping one at home to the Saint Mary’s Gaels, the Gonzaga Bulldogs head on the road for a quick trip to Santa Clara to take on the Broncos.
This will be the 91st all-time meeting between the two schools, with Gonzaga owning a 60-30 edge in the series. The Broncos last defeated Gonzaga in 2011 at home, that loss marking the first of three consecutive conference losses for Gonzaga.
Things have changed quite a bit since then. Specifically, the Broncos no longer have Jared Brownridge as the offensive focal point, and the team has suffered a bit because of it. KJ Feagin is a more than capable offensive scorer, but no team just replaces a player like Brownridge easily.
There are a few milestones to watch for in this game as well. Johnathan Williams is one rebound away from 850 in his career, and Josh Perkins is six assists away from 400 in his career.
