College basketball rankings: Gonzaga climbs up to No. 13

A couple of solid contests has Gonzaga rising.

The Gonzaga Bulldogs rose two spots in the latest AP poll, slowing inching their way closer to the top 10. The AP voters named Gonzaga the No. 13 team in the nation.

The Zags had a near 50-point demolition of the Portland Pilots on Thursday, then needed to tap into a bit of road juju to defeat the San Francisco Dons on Saturday. This week presents the Zags with one of their best (and few) chances to make a statement win in the West Coast Conference as the Saint Mary’s Gaels roll into town.

There is a bit of good news in the latest AP poll. Although Gonzaga’s loss over Florida is not holding as much weight as it used to, the Zags’ win over Ohio State is the gift that keeps on giving. The Buckeyes cracked the top 25, coming in ranked at No. 24.

Here are the full rankings.
