The 2017 NBA Draft is right around the corner, and for the second-consecutive year, there will be a Gonzaga Bulldog named called. The real question this year, is will it just be one, or two?
Zach Collins is guaranteed to get drafted, barring the darkest timeline where Zach Collins doesn’t exist. The Gonzaga freshman will become the first one-and-done in school history, and has a good shot to be the highest Zag drafted since Adam Morrison at No. 3 in 2006.
The real question is whether or not Nigel Williams-Goss squeezes into the second round. He might fight room there alongside Przemek Karnowski, who is also not projected to be drafted (but might have made enough of an impact during workouts).
Either way, it is a good run for Gonzaga fans in the NBA. Kelly Olynyk played the game of his life in Game 7 against the Wizards and Domantas Sabonis averaged 20 minutes per game for the Oklahoma City Thunder last season. Zach Collins is sure to make a contribution, and if NWG or PK hears their named called, it will be the first time in school history two Zags have been drafted in the same year.
