The Gonzaga Bulldogs will face off against the Ohio State Buckeyes in their first game of the PK80 Invitational.

The invitational takes place in Portland over Thanksgiving, and celebrates Phil Knight’s 80th birthday. It is without a doubt the biggest college hoops tournament to take place not named the NCAA Tournament, and a list of the names is the best example.

There will be two concurrent tournaments running in Portland, Oregon, and Gonzaga shares a bracket with Stanford, Florida, Texas, Butler, Portland State, and Duke. It’ll be a haul for the Zags, but no questions asked, there are some high-quality non-conference wins to bolster the resume with here.

Toss in games against Villanova (in New York City), at San Diego State, and at home against Creighton, and Gonzaga has lined up its traditionally harder than average non-conference schedule.

Although the Bulldogs are losing quite a bit from last season, Mark Few and company have faith that they can dig deep, and the non-conference slate proves it.
