The WCC Tournament gets off to its real big bang today with the quarterfinals providing 8+ potential hours of WCC basketball.
The Zags drew the Pacific Tigers for their quarterfinal matchup after Pacific staved off an enormous game by Lamond Murray. Portland upset San Diego to earn the rights to play against Saint Mary’s later in the day.
The 3:00 pm PT is important for Gonzaga fans, as it the winner of San Francisco and Santa Clara will face the Zags (theoretically) in the semi-finals. On the other end of the bracket, BYU and Loyola Marymount are fighting for a chance to face Saint Mary’s (presumably).
Enjoy the basketball today, however. Due to religious reasons for BYU, there will be no games tomorrow, and the WCC Tournament will pick back up on Monday.
